DTN COMMENTS: The country is very quiet this morning, and so far today
there are no bids to be found. Asking prices are around $112 to $115 in the
South, and $183 plus in the North. If any bids resurface today we may see
more business develop. A light trade took place on Wednesday with Southern
live deals at $112, roughly $7 lower than last week's weighted averages.
Only a very light Northern dressed trade was reported at mostly $180, $9
lower than last week's weighted average basis Nebraska. Very light live
business was reported in parts of Nebraska yesterday at $114, $5 lower than
last week's weighted average. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower, with
light to moderate box movement.
